17 TV Towns Hiding Dark Secrets

0
0

Sometimes small towns just give us the creeps. Maybe it's the way the townsfolk look at you when they know you don't belong. Maybe its because you don't know what might be hiding in that dark and empty building. But, the townsfolk know.

But, not all small towns are dark and dreary. Sometimes the prettiest little locales are the ones with the darkest secrets. You can't quite place your finger on it, but something's just off

Could that waitress be a demon? Is that guy back from the dead? Maybe he's just a psychopath.

Whatever the secret, here are 17 towns that have something to hide.

1. Dudley, Arkansas - The X-Files "Our Town"

Dudley arkansas the x files our town
The people of Dudley don't seem to age. Why? Well that's a secret, but we'll tell you this: It has something to do with cannabilism and a chicken plant.

2. Rome, West Virginia - Outcast

Rome outcast
Welcome to Rome, West Virginia where things dark and oily are overtaking the townspeople. Reverend Anderson's exorcisms don't really work, and the only two people who can do something about it are running for the hills. What's a poor town to do?

3. Sunnydale, California - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Sunnydale buffy the vampire slayer
Sunnydale is a pretty little town, but unfortunately it's a beacon for all sorts of monsters. Thank goodness Buffy and friends are around to keep all the evil at bay!

4. Wayward Pines, Idaho - Wayward Pines

Wayward pines wayward pines
One way in and no way out. Wayward Pines was a town created by a madman or a visionary, if you look at it another way, who kidnapped the best of the best to repopulate the world in the event of an apocalypse.

5. Unknown Small French Town - The Returned

Unknown small french town the returned
Nearly half the town is made up of dead people who returned to the land of the living. The odd thing about these dead people are they look just like they did before they died. They're not here to eat the flesh of the living, just to root out the cause of what killed them in the first place.

6. Hawkins, Indiana - Stranger Things

Hawkins indiana stranger things
The government is conducting secret experiments. People are disappearing into another dimension called the Upside Down. And, there's a monster on the loose. What else do we need to say about Hawkins?

1. Stiles and Lydia - Teen Wolf

Stiles and lydia teen wolf
Stiles and Lydia from Teen Wolf deserve love TOGETHER. It's the final season, let them find their way to each other already!

2. Cisco Ramon - The Flash

Cisco ramon the flash
Cisco has always fallen for someone, but never truly gets the girl. The Flash hasn't been known for its love, and we need someone to help pull Cisco back out of the darkness that has surrounded him this season. He's such a giving soul and so sweet. He deserves a crush that he eventually reciprocates. It would be so fun to watch!

3. The Leighton Brothers - Code Black

The leighton brothers code black
Angus and Mike Leighton from Code Black. Poor Angus just wants to do his job and do it well. Then you throw his brother out of an airplane. And then Mike actually leaves (because Tommy Dewey has a billion jobs, but still). You just want to hug these guys. Repeatedly.

4. Mick Rory - Legends of Tomorrow

Mick rory legends of tomorrow
Mick Rory from Legends of Tomorrow. I'm still bitter about the loss of Leonard Snart, but I still have my Micky. Unfortunately the rest of the Legends crew don't seem to value and love the guy like I do. Mick has had a tough go of it. He lost the closest person he had and the only one who seemed to give a damn about him. And he's stuck on a time ship with a merry band of misfits who tend to treat him like he's an idiot. He has understandably been in a funk. Even a thieving, occasionally homicidal, pyromaniac needs love! At least a badass vixen has taken a shining to him.

5. Spencer Reid - Criminal Minds

Spencer reid criminal minds
Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds has never had a real relationship. His one real love interest died before they ever had a chance to be together, and it was incredibly sad. He's had so much bad luck throughout the series, and his mom is taking a turn for the worse. If anyone is deserving of some happiness, it's him.

6. Jim Gordon - Gotham

Jim gordon gotham
"Gotham’s Jim Gordon is a complete mess, but the guy deserves a break in the love department. When he connected with Valerie Vale at the beginning of Season 3, it seemed like his luck had changed, but his pining for Lee ruined that relationship before it even had a chance. He and Lee are pretty much dead in the water, so can’t we give him someone else to love? At this point, he deserves a little bit of happiness.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 6 Review: Ghosted

0
0

It's kind of a miracle that the pack has survived for this long when you think about it.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 6, Lydia, Scott, and Malia went to Canaan, a ghost town with blood on the carousel.

There were clues that suggested no one had been there since 1987. Oh, and the town made Malia and Scott hallucinate.

A New World - Teen Wolf

Don't you just want to pack up your bags and visit immediately? Gosh, I bet whoever still lives there is such a normal, well-adjusted human being.

I swear that must have been what was going through Lydia, Scott, and Malia's head when they came across a tiny child and then Lenore.

They were super trusting and showed no hesitation when drinking Lenore's lemonade.

I just...I don't understand.

They should have also realized that she was a banshee a lot earlier, like when she almost knocked them unconscious with her voice or at least considered the possibility that she drugged them.

The other problem with the Canaan trip was that we didn't learn anything except Ghost Riders don't take banshees.

That's it. That's all we learned, but somehow Lydia came away with this "we can't let them leave" theory. Um, where did that come from? Please share.

As for the Claudia and Caleb thing, it's more confusing than anything else. Yes, Claudia is somehow alive because of the Ghost Riders. We've all known that. It's nothing new.

Lenore said that Ghost Riders gave her Caleb back, but when and how exactly did that happen? She did not see the Ghost Riders until after they had taken everyone but her.

My theory is that Caleb was just a hallucination. Somehow the town's energy, which was most likely caused by the Ghost Rider's visit, caused Malia and Scott to hallucinate, and they were only there minutes.

Perhaps since Lenore never left, her hallucinations of Caleb grew more powerful. Plus, her banshee skills could have played a part and made Caleb a hallucination that everyone could see. What's your theory on how Caleb's "alive?"

Lenore: You won't be taken. You will be safe.
Lydia: I don't want to be safe. I want to save Stiles.

Now let's discuss Liam and Hayden, who also make poor life decisions and have no survival instincts.

Oh goodness, where to begin? Let's go with looping in Mr. Douglas, the Nazi werewolf teacher.

Mr. Douglas TW

It's unclear why they trusted him, and then why they told him everything

It didn't seem like they figured out he was a werewolf, but Liam and Hayden sure did talk a lot about absorbing powers and putting people back where they came from.

It would not surprise me if they filled Mr. Douglas in on who Theo was, where he was, and how they got him back. Mr. Douglas seemed to be completely in the loop regarding all things Ghost Riders and supernatural.

Yes, okay, part of the reason is that he is a werewolf, but I'm saying that Mr. Douglas seemed completely aware and knowledgeable of the supernatural conversations Hayden and Liam were having in front of him.

Theo: Who is making decisions around here? Where's Scott? Where's Stiles?
Hayden: You remember Stiles?
Theo: Why wouldn't I remember Stiles?
Liam: Maybe you'll be useful after all.

Aside from asking him what he saw on the lacrosse field, Liam and Hayden did not really try to figure out how aware of the supernatural element in Beacon Hills Mr. Douglas was.

It was almost like he was pack or a trusted confidant like Melissa, Noah, or Argent.

Liam and Hayden never seemed to think about how Mr. Douglas could have immediately called the police on his crazy students and probably have them sent to Eichen.

If Liam and Hayden really needed Mr. Douglas' help with the science aspects of their plan, they could have gotten what they needed from him without spilling a ton of supernatural secrets.

It could have been entertaining to watch them try to dodge any questions Mr. Douglas might have had about what they were up to, and why they needed a lightning rod.

Honestly, it is hard to decide which was the more stupid decision – looping in Mr. Douglas or bringing back Theo. Which one was the worst decision in your book?

Wait, since when do you call me Mel? Since when do you use a nickname for anybody? You don't even use your first name! Everybody calls you Argent.

Melissa

While I enjoyed the scenes between Melissa and Argent, there's just one thing I don't understand: why didn't Chris just refuse to have the surgery?

Chris was alive and mentally capable to make decisions regarding his medical treatment. No one could have overruled Chris' decision.

Argent Up TW

He has the right to decline medical treatment, so why didn't he do that?

We could have still had Melissa treating him in secret and everything. The sneaking him out to avoid surgery felt forced, and it added unnecessary drama to the mixture.

Random question: does anyone know why there was blood on the carousel? Did someone go on a murder spree before or while the Wild Hunt was happening?

Last time I checked, you didn't bleed out when the Ghost Riders shot you.

What did you think of the episode? Are you excited to see Theo back in action? Leave your thoughts and theories in the comments below!

Did the group find out the truth about the Wild Hunt?

That was addressed on Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 6 when Scott, Lydia and Malia searched for clues in a mysterious locale known as Canaan.

Meanwhile on this hit drama series, Liam and Hayden took drastic measures in their big fight against the Ghost Riders, but who showed up from the past to put a wrench in the works for their plan?

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 7 Review: Heartless

0
0

Theo or Peter? We know it's lose-lose.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 7, Theo's return did not get joyous applause from Scott and Malia, thankfully.

Malia reacted violently, as was expected, while Scott tried to get Liam to see the error in his ways.

Fired Up - Teen Wolf

If Scott and/or Malia did not immediately object to Theo's return, it would not have felt right.

Theo coming back is not something that can be shrugged off because Theo hurt the pack badly. He almost tore them apart.

Sure, Theo remembering Stiles was enough to convince Liam and Hayden, but Theo did not hurt them the way he hurt Malia and Scott.

Those two could not care less about Theo remembering Stiles because, hey, a lot of people remembered him now. Keep up, Theo.

If Liam resurrected Theo (for some reason) right after Stiles was taken before anyone remembered him, then Theo remembering Stiles would have been a bit more useful.

Malia sort of trusting Peter over Theo made sense. Peter's always been a terrible human being.

He's never really manipulated them into thinking he was a good guy like Theo did. Well, he was deceptive way back in Teen Wolf Season 1, but now everyone is onto Peter and his disregard for anyone's wellbeing but his own.

Theo or Peter? If you had to choose, if you had to choose. No, seriously, if you had to trust one of them, which one would you pick?

I really don't know who I would pick. I want to say Peter just because all of Theo's evilness is still fresh in my mind.

Malia: He's my anchor.
Peter: We'll get you a new anchor. He's not coming back. He was hunted. He got caught.
Malia: You don't believe that. You risked your life to bring us his keys.
Peter: I risked my life to escape the hunt, not to reunite sentimental teenagers.

While it's sad seeing Lydia off on her own away from the pack, her storyline was absolutely fantastic.

Before diving into her scenes with Noah, let's discuss Lydia sharing her theories with her mom.

Natalie never dismisses her daughter's seemingly crazy theories, which is nice because Lydia needs that support system.

Natalie will give Lydia her take on the theory and give advice on how to proceed. Now that Stiles is gone (temporarily), Lydia needs to have someone to bounce ideas off of.

Total side note: is anyone else afraid that Stiles will turn into a Ghost Rider and never come back?

Yeah, I know, I'm sorry, but I'm concerned about Stiles, and how the Ghost Riders say that those who get taken join the hunt.

Mr. Ghost Rider, ahem, Mr. Rider. We'll let you out if you tell us how to get our friend back.

Liam

Anyways, on to Noah and Lydia. Their scenes in Stiles' room are powerful and emotional

Lydia and Noah are the two people who love Stiles the most, and so it is fitting that Lydia was the one to get through to Noah.

One of the unexpected highlights of Stiles' absence has been all of the one on one scenes between Noah and various pack members.

There was that amazing scene between Noah and Scott back in Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 3. Hopefully we will get a scene between Malia and Noah next!

There's nothing about furniture appearing in an empty room that sounds emotional, and yet as pieces of Stiles' room started to appear, I started crying.

Don't even get me started on the jersey.

This was such a small way to bring back a little bit of Stiles, and as each piece appeared, memories started flooding back.

What did you think of Lydia and Noah's scene together in Stiles' room?

Lydia: You are afraid to remember him because you are afraid of what it means.
Noah Stilinski: Why do you care so much if I remember him?
Lydia: Because you loved him.

Any idea why we had to watch Theo's creepy nightmare over and over again?

Aside from that fact that I don't care, I don't need that level of creepy in my life, thank you.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8 Review: Blitzkrieg

0
0

Wow, the Ghost Riders took quite a few people this go around.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8, basically everyone outside of the main pack, Liam, Noah, and Theo are gone. Yup, even Peter got taken again, but surprisingly he sacrificed himself for Malia. His fatherly instincts kicked in just in the nick of time.

We lost a lost of important and beloved characters to the Ghost Riders, and it was super anticlimactic. Aside from Liam and Hayden's goodbye, which went on a bit too long, everyone else was just gone in an instant, almost.

Finding Stiles - Teen Wolf

Now maybe nothing was a bit to do because we know that the people the Ghost Riders take are still alive, but it was still a little disappointing to see everyone go out the way they did.

At this rate, the pack better start bringing people back from the Ghost Rider train station fast, otherwise everyone but Lydia will be gone in two episodes.

Also, the final season is, if memory serves, 20 episodes long. It doesn't look like the Ghost Rider storyline has that much life left in it, so what's next after all of this? Please don't tell me it's fighting Mr. Douglas.

You know what was really boring? The Nazi flashbacks.

Sorry, Mr. Douglas, I really don't care that you have been obsessed with the wild hunt since your Nazi days. It's not interesting to me.

The flashbacks either needed to be trimmed down or cut out. Theo could have told us everything we needed to know. This is one instance where I wish we were told rather than shown.

Malia: You're the bad guy. I'm pretty sure helping you is a bad idea.
Mr. Douglas: Good guy, bad guy. When has everything ever been so black and white?

Mr. Douglas, as a character, is not all that exciting or compelling. It honestly would have been more interesting to have an origin of the Ghost Riders flashback or to spend time with someone, like Corey, in the train station.

Mr. Douglas is just a means to an end. Granted we don't exactly know what the end is yet, but somehow Mr. Douglas is important to the Ghost Rider storyline and the saving everyone storyline.

This is the final season. Let's focus on our core characters instead of wasting half an episode trying to figure out what Mr. Douglas did way back in his Nazi days.

Oh but wait! Mr. Douglas is also even more evil because he wants his own supernatural army. Shocker! Yawn.

I'm also not partial to Mr. Douglas because he's a constant reminder that we still know basically nothing about the stupid Dread Doctors. Did you enjoy the flashbacks?

Make no mistake, sheriff Noah Stilinski is the saving grace of this episode. Linden Ashby delivered a phenomenal emotional performance that brought me to tears multiple times.

I have a son. His name is Mieczyslaw Stilinski, but we call him Stiles. I remember. When Stiles was a little kid, he couldn't say his first name. I'm not sure why, it pretty much rolls off the tongue, but the closest he could was mischief. His mother called him that until...I remember when Stiles first got his jeep. It belonged to his mother. She wanted him to have it. The first time he took a spin behind the wheel, he went straight into a ditch. I gave him his first roll of duct tape that day. He was always getting into trouble, but he always had a good heart, always. We're here tonight because my goofball son because he decided to drag Scott, his greatest friend in the world, into the woods to see a dead body.

Noah

Now, on paper, having one character off on his own doing some soul searching and remembering a forgotten son could have been really boring, but it's not.

It's the heart of the episode, and it's one of the reasons why we all love Teen Wolf so much that we stick with it through some iffy storylines.

The only thing that still doesn't quite make sense to me is Claudia. No one else seemed to bring back some family member or friend as a way to cope with Stiles' absence.

Side note: this could have been an amazing way to bring back a beloved character that had died or even just left, and then this is how we find out that they've died. Oh my god, it could have been heartbreaking and perfect.

Like can you imagine if Jackson was back, and then Lydia and Jackson are back together, but there's something that makes Lydia feel like something's not right with everything.

Then, after being adorable with Jackson one day at school, Lydia would remember Stiles saying "I love you."

Anyway, back to Claudia. It's doubtful that we will ever get answers as to how exactly Claudia returned, but it was a nice thought.

It's too bad that she came off super shady for the majority of the time she was there. I'll never be over her freak out over Lydia peeling back one tiny corner of wallpaper.

What did you think of the episode? Did Noah bring you to tears? What do you think of Stiles' name? Leave your thoughts in a comment below.

13 Characters Who Kill Absolutely Everyone with Kindness

0

As the saying goes, nice guys finish last.

We disagree.

Some of our favorite shows have nice guys and gals that we absolutely love and keep us tuning in for more!

These men and women are all good natured people who go out of their way to be kind and generous.

Whether they consistently love and support their families, smile at snarky co-workers, or are just optomistic, sometimes to a fault, these are the people we wish were in our lives on a daily basis.

Check out our top 13 Nicest Characters on TV.

1. Randall Pearson - This Is Us

Randall pearson this is us
Randall Pearson has easily stolen our hearts as the soft-spoken, earnest family-man who adores his wife and daughters and opened his home to his dying biological father. He even found it in his heart to forgive his mother after he lied to him for decades. Randall is the cornerstone of the Pearson family and always offers kind words, smart advice, and compassionate support. We all wish we had someone like Randall in our lives.

2. Scott McCall - Teen Wolf

Scott mccall image
Despite facing off against many evil villains and nefarious foes, Scott McCall has always been a benevolent, kind-hearted, optimistic leader. He frequently puts the well-being of others ahead of himself, and you can't ask for more than that.

3. Patterson - Blindspot

Patterson returns blindspot s2e11
She's the head of the FBI Forensic Science Unit and brilliant at decoding Jane's tattoos. Despite having her heart broken again and again, Patterson never seems to lose her kind heart, resolve or cheeky sense of humor. And even though she faces terror on a regular basis, she's never become brooding or judgmental. Patterson has turned out to be one of our favorite nice characters on TV…which leaves us with just one question. What’s her first name?

4. Simon Lewis - Shadowhunters

Simon lewis shadowhunters
Simon Lewis went from being a dorky but sweet mundane to an awkward and adorable vampire with a heart of gold. There are times we could even argue that he's actually too nice for his own good.

5. Richard Castle - Castle

Richard castle castle
Yes, Rick Castle started off as just the famous author/playboy who was a bit of a wiseass, but viewers quickly learned that Castle wasn't just smart and ruggedly handsome, he was also generous to a fault, patient in ways we never expected, and would do anything for the people he loved. Rick Castle was a true optimist and a nice guy we wish we knew in real life.

6. Abby Sciuto - NCIS

Abbys holiday spirit
Abby Sciuto is the nicest, sweetest goth you could ever hope to meet. Don't let the all of the black clothes, spider tattoo and collar fool you; she is the epitome of a human ray of sunshine. She visits sick kids in hospitals, loves animals, worries about her family, dotes on her work family, and is part of a bowling league solely made up of nuns. She's also always ready with a hug and a smile. It's difficult to find someone nicer than Abby, either in real life or on TV.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 9 Review: Memory Found

0
0

As far as filler episodes go, it wasn't all that bad.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 9, Scott, Malia, and Lydia's goal was to remember Stiles.

This meant that flashbacks made up the majority of the episode, which isn't an awful thing, but it meant that the hour was not all that thrilling.

Remembering Stiles - Teen Wolf

Overall, the hour was just okay. The novelty of seeing old scenes from previous seasons wore off pretty quickly.

The hour is just a little on the boring side.

However, Malia, Scott, and Lydia's emotional flashbacks, the memories they were searching for, those were the highlight, and they made sitting through this filler episode worth it.

Those flashbacks tugged on the heartstrings.

We obviously remember all of these scenes, so the best part of all of this isn't watching them again, it's seeing Lydia, Scott, and Malia react to that memory.

It's the moment where everything comes rushing back to them.

Lydia's moments, for instance, were when she realized when she first fell in love with Stiles, and then how she never said, "I love you," back to him.

Man, I don't know about you, but I was tearing up.

Lydia: That's when it happened.
Scott: When what happened? Lydia, what do you mean when what happened?
Lydia: When I kissed him, that's when it all changed.

While the abundance of flashbacks wasn't my favorite thing, it was nice that Malia, Scott, and Lydia each had a chance to remember Stiles.

Scott could have been the only one who needed to remember for everything to work.

Scott's memory being powerful enough to open the rift would have made sense, but being able to reflect on the connection

Stiles made with all three of them was much more powerful.

What was really, really lame was the light in the tunnel where someone who might be Stiles was standing.

I mean why?

It could have ended with Lydia, Malia, and Scott opening the door.

I honestly would have preferred that we just saw their faces and saw them react to (assumedly) seeing Stiles again.

The silhouette bit did not work.

What did you think of all the flashbacks? Did you enjoy this trip down memory lane?

At the start of the year, Stiles was trying to find a place for you guys to live after graduation. He said you were getting an apartment together? And I remember saying something to Stiles, something like, 'it's not always a good idea to live with your friend, even your best friend.' Stiles said it wouldn't matter because you guys weren't just friends, you guys were more like brothers.

Malia

In terms of moving the plot along, this episode did almost nothing.

Fighting off the Ghost Riders is no longer fun.

We've been there and done that how many times now?

Character fights Ghost Riders. Ghost Riders take character.

Ghost Riders move on to fighting and taking the next character.

Repeat the cycle until everyone in the vicinity is gone, and then move on to the next location.

Theo and Liam teaming up did make things more entertaining.

These are two guys who are total opposites, and forcing them to work together is the perfect recipe for fun. Maybe the two of them can get a buddy cop spin off!

Was anyone else surprised that Theo sacrificed himself to save Liam?

I didn't think Theo had a sacrificial bone in his body.

Theo: You want to bring them all here, every single one of them?
Liam: That's exactly what I want to do because that means the Ghost Riders are here, that means they're not trying to get to Scott.
Theo: You don't care if they get to you?
Liam: They'll get to all of us eventually.
Theo: You! You're going first! That's the only reason I'm with you because while their busy wrapping a whip around your neck or shooting a hole in your head, I'll be running the other direction! I'm on your side as long as it helps me.

What did you think of the episode? Can you believe that the winter finale is next Tuesday?!

Man, I've missed Stiles.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 10, Stiles returned, and all was right with the world.

Okay, so the Wild Hunt was still going on, so everything wasn't really fixed, but Stiles was back! Hooray!

We got to see him reunite with his brother, Scott, his father, and Lydia, the woman he loves.

All those reunions were perfect. Stiles and Liam's reunion was also so them; it was perfect.

My only issue is that we didn't get to see Stiles and Malia's reunion.

We have seen how much of an impact Stiles had on Malia's life, and yet, they were not allowed a moment of their own during this finale.

Also, what was with the Stiles and "Claudia" reunion? It was all sorts of no.

It did not make any sense. Lydia said that the Wild Hunt created Claudia from Noah's pain, but how does that explain her coming back to fight Stiles?

Honestly, my head hurts just trying to understand what the hell happened there.

As much as I love Stiles and Lydia, it was great that Stiles and Scott teamed up again to try to fight off the Ghost Riders.

Their friendship is the first thing that hooks you into the show.

Scott and Stiles are the heart of it all, and so it was great to spend more time with the two of them fighting bad guys.

Scott: You want to split up?
Stiles: Never again.
Scott: Thank god.

The majority of the hour, however, is not all that thrilling.

Aside from the joy of seeing Stiles reunite with everyone, the hour is the same has it's been for the past couple weeks now.

Fight Ghost Riders. Get Taken. Come back. Fight Ghost Riders again.

Also, it must really suck to be Parrish. He's always under someone's control as the hellhound.

He should really work on some self defense to prevent him from being manipulated like that.

You actually do not have to watch the TV to follow along with what's happening.

The only thing that changed was that we saw a bit more characters working together in various train stations.

There were also train tracks in exciting new places, but all in all, it was nothing all that new.

Mr. Douglas was also an awful bad guy. There was never a need to throw a Nazi in with the Wild Hunt. The Ghost Riders were scary enough.

Granted, it is a little weird that all that had to be done to defeat them, after remembering people and figuring out what was going on, was divert the train...

It would have been nice if the Ghost Rider portion was cut short, so that more time could have been spend on everyone settling back into their lives.

Stiles: I can't believe I'm gone a couple days and the whole place falls apart.
Scott: No you were gone for three months.
Stiles: I was, what? Okay if they don't let me graduate, I swear to god.

Seeing as how we rarely spent time in school, it was not surprising that we did not get to see the pack graduate.

Still, it would have been nice to see a little bit more of the pack's final summer together before everyone went off to college.

It could have been as simple as everyone hanging out together before Lydia and Stiles headed out.

We could have also seen Lydia and Stiles say their goodbyes to everyone. A little bit more of happiness would have been lovely.

The Final Showdown - Teen Wolf

Don't get me wrong, Stiles giving his speech to Liam and handing Mason a bat was awesome.

It was a very Stiles thing to do, and it was an all around great scene.

Stiles: Okay, so Liam, since you're the new Alpha.
Liam: I'm not an alpha.
Stiles: Right, but, you know, alpha in training.
Liam: Well I'd have to kill an alpha.
Stiles: Liam, since you are taking over, the most important thing you can remember is that Mason is always going to be the one who is there to save your ass all the time.
Scott: Not all the time.
Stiles: Most of the time. Which is why, I think think you are going to need this.
[Stiles gives Mason a baseball bat]
Mason: I don't play baseball.
Stiles: Right, neither do I. It's not the point.

The final 10 episodes of Teen Wolf will air this summer.

Based on this finale, it does not look like Stiles will be in the majority of them (if any of them), which makes sense considering Dylan's injury.

The question is, will Lydia? She's going to MIT, so it makes sense that she wouldn't be in the final ten.

What do you think?

What did you think of the midseason finale?

Did it give Stiles a proper send off?

Teen Wolf Review: When Fear Turns Deadly

0

So, when is Liam getting his glasses?

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 14 and Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 15, Scott really stepped up as the leader. He exemplified what an alpha, a true one at that, should be. They grow up so fast.

He not only made sure Liam got to school (it was super adorable, by the way), but he explored all his options before deciding that fighting is the right course of action.

It would not have made sense if Scott immediately decided that the pack should fight Gerard. This is the kid who wants to protect everyone and hates the idea of killing even if it is in self defense (as evident in the horrible Sciles fight about Donovan's death). Scott believes in justice and peace.

Mason and Liam - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 14

This is why he agreed to go down into the tunnels, alone, even though it was so obviously a trap. Scott has to believe that there's goodness in this world and that co-existence is possible. Thankfully, his pack is full of skeptics like Malia and Lydia who will always have his back.

The transition from wanting peace to staying and fighting is nicely done. It's not dragged out, and it's not a quick turnaround either. Scott doesn't spend too long hoping for peace; he knows when to switch gears. Of course, somewhere down the line, the option of peace will definitely get brought up again; it has to.

Is anyone else excited to see the pack on the attack? Let the war games begin!

Scott: Think of it like when Superman gets caught with his glasses off. You know, he doesn't give up. He puts them back on and says, "I'm still Clark Kent."
Liam: You want me to wear glasses?

When Monroe first appeared on Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 11, the impression was that she was new to Beacon Hills. She suffered some tragedy in some other city, and her new job as a hunter led her to Beacon Hills. As it turns out, that's not the case at all.

It's great that Scott and the pack had a hand in turning Monroe into a hunter. Yes, she blames them for the death of her colleagues who were actually killed by The Beast aka the thing Scott and the pack were trying to kill and thus protect Beacon Hills, but Monroe was right that Scott isn't completely blameless.

The pack was more focused on killing the Beast than they were rescuing survivors. Monroe provides us with another perspective on Scott and his pack. We view them as heroes, which they are, but they are far from perfect.

Theo: Your dead friends are dead, and they are going to stay dead no matter what you do.
Liam: [punches Theo] By the way, I'm still working on my anger.
Theo: Good to know.

This connection makes Monroe's war a lot more interesting. Scott's pack isn't randomly selected as a target. It's personal for her, making her just as dangerous as Gerard, which shifts our perspective of her.

Suddenly, Monroe isn't the new hunter that might be easily swayed to see the error in her ways. No, Monroe is a force to be reckoned with. She's blinded by her hatred, just like Gerard.

Some of the recruits, like Nolan, aren't full of hate. They're afraid, and that fear is what is prompting them to do absolutely terrible things like beat the hell out of Liam, who never once fought back.

Keeping Order - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 15

If you notice, so far Gerard and Monroe haven't been affected by the anuke-ite. In the tunnels, other hunters started firing sporadically, but Monroe just seemed confused as to what the hell was going on.

Maybe, the anuke-ite's fear can't override someone's hatred. Then again, maybe the anuke-ite only targets one person at a time, as was further evidenced by its attacks in the Sheriff's station. However, both Melissa and Argent were deathly afraid of it when it was sort of lifeless in the morgue.

My other theory is that Monroe is the beautiful face of the anuke-ite. Yeah, I know, I have a couple of conflicting theories, so sue me.

Deaton: I think I know what we're dealing with. It's an ancient shape shifter, a creature of disharmony. It can turn neighbor against neighbor, sewing the seeds of discord and hate. It doesn't need claws. It uses something far more sinister.
Mason: Fear.
Deaton: Yes. When paranoia turns to anger, anger turns to violence, entire communities tear themselves apart. The creature feeds off the fear and grows more powerful. It's called anuke-ite.

There's still a lot we don't know about this new big bad. We just learned its name (thank you Deaton), but that's all we know. Right now, aside from somehow inciting fear, we don't know anything about how it operates, which is okay, for now.

We're making some progress and getting some answers. Let's hope the momentum continues because if we go too long without answers, the anuke-ite will go from being interesting to confusing.

Now that we know its name, maybe the pack can uncover more about it, like how to identify its other face, and how to kill it. What are your anuke-ite theories?

I know the sign on the door says we're closed, but you could have at least tried knocking.

Deaton

Also, can we just take a moment to applaud the return of Deaton? It has been far too long since we've seen him, and he never fails to brighten things up with his sarcasm.

The thing we forget at times is that Scott and his pack are kids. They are doing the best they can to protect their town and themselves from unimaginable danger. It's a miracle that they have survived this long.

For the most part, the hunters are adults, and they are mercilessly killing and torturing children. None of the weres are adults; have you noticed that? Sure, Nolan and some high school kids are joining the fight, but it's mainly adults attacking children.

Pack Rules - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 15

This highlights how deadly the anuke-ite truly is. There does not seem to be any remorse or hesitation by these adults. The only person who has ever shown any hesitation is Nolan. Everyone else seems gung ho for taking out teenagers.

Still, the teenagers aren't saints either. Liam could have died if Finstock (our hero) did not step in and break up the fight. Nolan and company were so bent on getting Liam to shift, proving that they are justified in their fear, that they never stopped throwing punches.

Liam never fought back, only showed his glowing eyes like once (for a couple seconds), and no one in that class room, aside from Mason, did anything. The anuke-ite has proven itself to be very powerful, even if we don't quite know how its power works, yet.

The only thing that's still a little confusing is how much of Gerard and Monroe's war is not being controlled by the anuke-ite's fear. How much of it is hunters being hunters, taking out werewolves because that's what they believe is right?

Peace - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 14

We all know that Gerard doesn't need the anuke-ite to kill a were, and it doesn't look like Monroe does either.

Right now, we've got two big bads: the hunters and the anuke-ite, and it looks like the anuke-ite is responsible for some, if not most, of the actions being done by the hunters.

At some point, we're going to have to highlight the difference between the two. Hopefully, the hunter war won't be over when the anuke-ite is killed. That would be far too easy. It's too early to really worry about this, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

Was Beacon Hills doomed?

That thought crossed Scott, Lydia and Malia's minds on Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 14 when the new villain sent the violence in town into overdrive.

Meanwhile, Liam worried about how things were playing out in the school and questioned whether he would be better patrolling with the others.

Then, an unlikely ally joined in on the fight to save two werewolves who were being targeted.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 16 Review: Triggers

0
0

Gerard, maybe don't put your top secret plan on a map that anyone can see or steal it.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 16, Gerard's plan was revealed, and damn, does he dream big. It's actually not all that surprising that Gerard wants world domination.

He was never going to be happy knowing that supernatural creatures were out and about living totally normal lives not hurting anyone. Does Gerard plan to wipe them out it single-handedly, or does he have little hunter armies spread worldwide?

Concern - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 16
,

While Gerard has an endgame, Scott has a plan for one battle, one.

Getting rid of Gerard's weapons was a solid plan, but it's not as if the hunters would stop fighting if they discovered their guns were gone. Scott's big plan was a stalling tactic.

I know Scott hasn't had long to devise a plan, but I was hoping for something a little more long term, especially since this move revealed that the pack never actually left Beacon Hills. The element of surprise is a big thing to give away.

Hopefully, Scott starts to develop a plan (or plans) that will help him win the war. Personally, I think he should start looking into the anuke-ite a little bit more. He's got a pack, so let's divide and conquer. If he can get rid of the thing that is causing the fear, anger, and violence, then maybe he can weaken Gerard's army.

It's not like the anuke-ite is changing Gerard's behavior all that much, but odds are a good bit of his army is only there because of the anuke-ite. Whittle down Gerard's army, and then it will be a lot easier to take down Gerard.

Plus, you know Gerard will be upset when half his men drop out. What do you think Scott's next move should be?

You could definitely feel the tension in this hour. The stakes are high, and you actually worry for people's safety for the first time since the war started.

Once Lydia heard gunshots, you start to play the "wait who is going to die" game. I don't know who you were fearing for, but Argent was my main concern.

He isn't a main character, yet he is important enough that his death would make a bunch of people (aka me) bawl their eyes out. Yeah, I was concerned about Argent during the raid.

Fighting Back - Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 16

Any theories on who got shot at the end? There isn't a good answer, unfortunately, but I think it was Melissa. While it was a lot of blood, there's still a chance that no one will truly die, right?

FINALLY, we got some answers on Liam's anger issues.

Okay, so it's not a secret that Liam has trouble controlling his anger, but we watched him learn how to stay in control and reign it in. Since Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 11, however, Liam hasn't been able to keep his anger under wraps.

Liam: Did it work?
Mason: Yeah, Nolan is right behind me, like literally right behind me. He's driving a bright red car. He's actually terrible at this.

You would think that Scott, Liam's alpha, would be concerned about what's going on, but nope, the bond between alpha and beta isn't that strong apparently. Okay, so Scott has a gazillion things on his mind, but still, it would have been nice to have Scott notice this and reach out to Liam.

However, it is great that Theo attempted to help Liam.

The two of them have quite a history of punching each other repeatedly, and so anytime they break from that to have something similar to a heart to heart, it's entertaining to watch. These two have come a long way, and while they are far from friends, they aren't enemies anymore.

Theo and Liam Fight

Theo helping Liam also earns Theo major points. It's nice to see Theo caring for and looking out for Liam. Slowly but surely, Theo, I'm growing to like you.

In addition to Theo and Liam's bonding, it's great to see the effects of the anuke-ite. Yeah, we know it causes fear, and we're supposed to believe it's what caused all the high school students to turn on the pack, but it's not like we really knew them before the anuke-ite was unleashed.

For all we know, the random classmates could be turning on the pack because they've finally opened their eyes to all the horrible things that happened in their town.

It would be one thing if like Mason joined forces with Monroe and Gerard because of the anuke-ite. We know Mason, and we would have been able to prove that the anuke-ite was responsible for his change of heart.

With Liam, we've witnessed the change, and during the zoo mission, we saw his hallucination. Now, it's easier to understand and, well, fear the anuke-ite. We saw the magnitude of its power.
